Burghul pilaf


 Burghul pilaf recipe in the arab category

 Recipe ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups coarse burghul
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup crumbled fine vermicelli


 Recipe method:

  • Fry vermicelli in heated butter in a pot.
  • Add burghul.
  • Fry for 5 minutes over moderate heat.
  • Stir in salt, pepper and water.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Lower heat and cover pot.
  • Continue cooking for 20-25 minutes.
  • Serve hot when burghul becomes fluffy and moist.
