Recipe for artichokes Crecy

Prepare 12 very small fresh artichokes and put them in a generously buttered saute pan. Turn 800 g ( 1 3/4 lb) small new carrots and add them to the saute pan. Season with salt and a pinch of sugar. Moisten with 4 tablespoons water, cover, and cook slowly for about 40 minutes. Add 1 tablespoon unsalted butter just before serving.
