Barbecued pot roast recipe in the beef category
Recipe ingredients:
- 1, 4 pounds, beef roast
- 2 tablespoons fat
- Salt and pepper
- 1, 8 ounce, can tomato sauce
- 3 medium onions, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1/4 cup catsup
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Dash of hot pepper sauce
Recipe method:
- Brown meat in fat.
- Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Add 1 cup water, tomato sauce, onion and garlic.
- Cover and simmer 2 hours.
- Add remaining ingredients.
- Cover and continue cooking 1 1/2 hours longer or until tender, adding more water if necessary.
- Remove meat and skim off excess fat from gravy.
