Colonial bread recipe
Recipe for colonial bread in the bread recipes category.
Recipe ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon butter or applesauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup molasses
- 1 1/2 cups boiling water
- 1/3 cup yellow cornmeal
- 3 1/2 cups bread flour
- 1 package yeast
Recipe method:
- Place cornmeal a large bowl.
- Carefully pour boiling water into cornmeal, stirring to make sure it is smooth.
- Let stand to cool for about 30 minutes.
- Stir in molasses, salt and butter.
- Place cornmeal mixture into bread pan. Then bread flour and then yeast.
- Use the Light setting.
