Molasses cake
Molasses cake recipe in the cake category
Recipe ingredients:
- 1 egg
- 1 cup dark or light molasses
- 1 cup sour milk
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 heaping teaspoons shortening
- 2 cups flour
Recipe method:
- Combine all ingredients.
- Pour into 13 x 9 inch baking pan.
- Bake in 375 degrees F oven approximately 45 minutes.
- Cake is very moist and even better 2 days old.
