Orange date cake

 Orange date cake recipe in the cake category

 Recipe ingredients:

• 1 cup butter
• 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
• 2 cups granulated sugar
• 1 teaspoon grated orange rind
• 4 eggs
• 1 cup chopped dates
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 cup coconut
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup chopped pecans
• 4 cups sifted flour
• Orange glaze:
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 2 cups granulated sugar

 Recipe method:

• Cream butter and sugar together.
• Add eggs and other ingredients.
• Bake in greased tube pan for 1 to 1 and 1/2 hours at 350 degrees F.
• Bring orange glaze ingredients to a boil and pour over cake hot from oven.
• Cool completely before taking from the pan.
• This cake keeps well.
