Red velvet cake recipe in the cake category
Recipe ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 cups vegetable oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- 1 tablespoon cocoa
- 1, 2 ounce, bottle red food coloring
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup buttermilk
Recipe method:
- Cream sugar and oil.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
- Add baking soda salt, vinegar, cocoa, food coloring and vanilla extract.
- Mix well.
- Add flour alternately with buttermilk.
- Pour into 3, 8 inch, well greased cake pans.
- Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes or until done.
- Frost with white icing.
