Vanilla buttermilk pound cake recipe in the cake category
Recipe ingredients:
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup, 2 sticks, margarine
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 5 large eggs
- 3 cups flour
- 1, 6 ounce, can evaporated milk plus water to make 1 cup liquid
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon butternut flavoring
Recipe method:
- Cream oil, margarine, sugar and salt for 5 minutes.
- Add eggs one at a time.
- Add flour and milk alternately, ending with flour.
- Fold in flavoring by hand.
- Pour into greased tube pan.
- Place cake in cold oven.
- Bake 1 hour and 45 minutes at 325 degrees F.
- Do not open oven door while baking.
- Remove cake from pan immediately.
