<p>&nbsp;<strong>Recipe method</strong>:</p>
<ul style="margin-left: 3px; margin-right: 5px" class="lista">
<li>The night before you plan on slow cooking your dinner, mix together the marinade ingredients in a large, closable container large enough to also hold the chicken pieces.</li>
<li>When marinade is thoroughly mixed, add the chicken, close container and refrigerate until morning.</li>
<li>In the morning place the chicken in the slow cooker and add marinade up to about an inch from the top of the container.</li>
<li>Set the cooker on low and cover.</li>
<li>6 to 8 hours later, turn the cooker to high.</li>
<li>About an hour later, saute the sliced mushrooms in the margarine or butter.</li>
<li>Then add the mushrooms with pan juices, mandarin sections, green pepper and ginger into the slow cooker and stir thoroughly.</li>
<li>Mix together the cornstarch, milk and cold water, then gradually add into the slow cooker while stirring until the entire mixture thickens a bit.</li>
<li>Recover the slow cooker and let simmer for 15 to 30 minutes until serving.</li>
<li>Serve with baby carrots and small new potatoes.</li>

<li>Cut beef roast into serving-sized portions. Use more beef if you need more than 6 servings.</li>
<li>Brown beef in a bit of vegetable oil, although you can skip this step if rushed for time.</li>
<li>Slice onion and separate into rings. Dice the peeled carrots, dice the celery and slice the peppers into thin strips or circles. Place these into bottom of crockpot.</li>
<li>Sprinkle the beef pieces with fresh ground black pepper, minced garlic and the onion soup mix. Place on top of the vegetables.</li>
<li>Mix the steak sauce and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl with about 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup tomato juice. Pour this over the meat.</li>
<li>Turn the crockpot to high for 30 minutes. Turn to low, cover and cook for 7-9 hours.</li>
<li>Keep the crockpot covered as much as possible throughout cooking time.</li>
<li>A crockpot can be used to cook this type of meal for a varied amount of time, depending on your schedule.</li>
<li>When ready to serve, dip meat and vegetables out of pot with a slotted spoon.</li>
<li>Use the liquid as is or turn crockpot to high and thicken liquid with a little flour or cornstarch.</li>

<p>&nbsp;<strong>Recipe method</strong>:</p>
<ul style="margin-left: 3px; margin-right: 5px" class="lista">
<li>Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.</li>
<li>With the electric beater on low, fluff the shortening in a small bowl, until soft and creamy.</li>
<li>Add the sugar gradually. Beat in the eggs in a slow stream.</li>
<li>With a fork, beat in 1/3 of the flour mixture, 1/2 the bananas another 1/3 of the flour mixture, the rest of the bananas then the last of the flour mixture.</li>
<li>Fold in the walnuts. Turn into a greased and floured baking unit or a 2 1/2 quart mold and cover.</li>
<li>Place on a rack in the slow cooker. Cover the cooker, but prop the lid open with a toothpick or a twist of foil to let the excess steam escape.</li>
<li>Cook on high for 4 to 6 hours. Cool on a rack for 10 minutes. Serve warm.</li>

<li>In a 4-quart or larger electric slow cooker, lightly mix thinly sliced onion, garlic, ginger, cinamon stick, cumin, red pepper flakes, turmeric, cloves and cardamom.</li>
<li>Rinse chicken and pat dry. Arrange, overlapping pieces slightly, on top of onion mixture.</li>
<li>Pour in broth. Cover and cook at low setting until meat near thighbone is very tender when pierced, 6-7 hours.</li>
<li>Carefully lift chicken to a warm serving dish and keep warm.</li>
<li>Skim and discard fat from cooking liquid, if necessary.</li>
<li>Remove and discard cinnamon stick. Blend in cornstarch mixture.</li>
<li>Increase cooker heat setting to high.</li>
<li>Cover and cook, stirring 2 or 3 times, until sauce to taste with salt.</li>
<li>Stir in cilantro and green onions. Pour sauce over chicken.</li>

<li>In a 4 quart or larger electric slow cooker, combine shallots, garlic, mushrooms and tarragon.</li>
<li>Rinse chicken and pat dry. Arrange, overlapping pieces slightly, on top of mishroom mixture.</li>
<li>Sprinkle with white pepper. Pour in wine.</li>
<li>Cover and cook at low setting until meat near thighbone is very tender when pierced (6-7 hours).</li>
<li>Carefully lift chicken to a warm platter and keep warm. Skim and discard fat from cooking liquid.</li>
<li>In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and cream, blend into cooking liquid.</li>
<li>Increase cooker heat setting to high.</li>
<li>Cover and cook stirring 2 or 3 times, until sauce is thickened about 10 more minutes.</li>
<li>Stir in grapes and then season to taste with lemon juice and salt.</li>
<li>Cover and cook for 3-5 more minutes. To serve spoon sauce over chicken.</li>

<li>In a 3-1/2 quart slow cooker, combine ketchup, honey, vinegar, soy sauce, five-spice powder, onion, ginger and garlic.</li>
<li>Position a broiler rack 6 inches from the saurce of the heat and preheat the broiler.</li>
<li>Broil the ribs, turning once, until browned. About 10 minutes.</li>
<li>Transfer the ribs to the slow cooker. Stir to coat the ribs with the sauce.</li>
<li>Cover and slow cook until ribs are tender, 5-6 hours on low.</li>
<li>Transfer the ribs to a platter and cover with aluminum foil to keep warm.</li>
<li>Skim the fat from the surface of the sauce.</li>
<li>In a medium saucepan bring the sauce to a simmer over a medium heat.</li>
<li>Cook until reduced to about 1 cup (6-8 minutes).</li>
<li>Stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook just until thickened.</li>
<li>Pour the sauce over ribs and serve with hot cooked rice.</li>
