Double chocolate chip cookies


 Double chocolate chip cookies recipe in the cookie category

 Recipe ingredients:

  • 1 1/3 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 1/3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts


 Recipe method:

  • Melt 1/3 cup chocolate. Set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
  • In large mixing bowl, with electric mixer, beat margarine and sugars for three minutes until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Beat in reserved melted chocolate and vanilla until blended, scraping the sides of the bowl occasionally.
  • With the mixer on low, beat in flour mixture.
  • Stir in walnuts and remaining 1 cup chocolate.
  • Wrap dough in plastic wrap and freeze for one hour or until firm.
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • On an ungreased baking sheets, drop dough by level tablespoons, 2 inches apart.
  • Bake 9 minutes or until just set on top.
  • Cool for one minute. Transfer to wire rack. Cool completely.
