Aromatic cabbage
Aromatic cabbage recipe in the curry category
Recipe ingredients:
- 1 small cabbage
- 2 medium onions
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds, whole
- 1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds, whole
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
- Salt to taste
Recipe method:
- Remove coarse outer leaves from cabbage, quarter and core.
- Cut into fine shred, either by hand or with food processor. Set aside.
- Peel onions and cut into half lengthwise.
- Again cut crosswise into thin half rings and set aside.
- In large wok or large wide pan over medium heat, heat oil.
- When very hot, add the cumin and fennel seeds.
- As soon as the seeds turn a shade darker, just a few minutes, toss in the sesame seeds.
- Now add onions and stir fry for 2 to 3 minutes or until browned on the edges.
- To this, add shredded cabbage, cover tightly and turn heat to low.
- Cook for another 2 to 3 minutes or until cabbage wilts.
- Uncover and cook over high heat, stir fry for 5 minutes or until cabbage gets tender.
