Paneer bhurji recipe


 Recipe for paneer bhurji in the curry recipes category

 Recipe ingredients:

  • 2 blocks Paneer, crumbled coarsely
  • 2 finely chopped medium onions
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon chopped green chillies
  • 1 chopped tomato
  • 4-5 cashewnuts, cut into small bits
  • 1 green bell pepper cut into thin strips
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons red chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter) for frying


 Recipe method:

  • Heat ghee in a heavy saucepan.
  • Add the ginger-garlic paste and fry for one minute.
  • Add the cashewnuts, onions, green chillies and bell pepper and stir fry till the onions turn color.
  • Add the tomatoes and keep frying till the tomatoes turn mushy.
  • Add all the dry powders and fry for one minute.
  • Add the crumbled paneer, salt and the lemon juice.
  • Mix well, heat through and eat hot with naan or chapathi.
