Pulikoddel
Pulikoddel recipe in the curry category
Recipe ingredients:
- 1/2 pound of gourd or squash
- A pinch of turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon of mustard seeds
- 2 to 3 red chillies
- Fry in a little oil:
- A pinch of asoefetida, hing
- 1 1/2 tablespoons coriander seeds
- 8 to 10 peppercorns
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cumin seeds
- 3/4 teaspoon fenugreek, methi
- 1 tablespoon rice, washed
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 2 to 3 tablespoons coconut
- Salt to taste
- 2 teaspoons cooking oil for seasoning
Recipe method:
- Blend all the fried ingredients to a smooth paste and set aside.
- Cook the gourd/squash with a pinch of salt and turmeric and when it is done, add the ground masala to it.
- Bring it to a boil.
- Season with the mustard and red chillies in oil.
- Eat hot with rice.
