Sag paneer recipe



Recipe for sag paneer in our easy curry recipes collection.

Recipe ingredients

  • 2 pints whole milk
  • 4 tablespoons lemon juice
  • Oil for deep frying
  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup curry sauce
  • 16 ounces can pureed spinach
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cummin
  • 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala

How to make sag paneer

  • Make the milk into curd cheese cubes for mattar paneer.
  • Heat the four tablespoons of oil in a deep frying pan.
  • When hot add the curry sauce and cook rapidly for about five minutes until quite thick.
  • Add the spinach and stir in the salt, ground cummin and chilli powder.
  • Simmer, stirring, for ten minutes.
  • Now add the cheese cubes and garam masala and continue to cook over a gentle heat for a further five minutes.
  • Serve.
