Sambhar powder recipe

Recipe ingredients

• 1 tablespoon bengal gram dal (urad dal)
• 2 teaspoons coriander seeds
• 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
• 1/2 teaspoon methi (fenugreek) seeds
• 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
• 1/2 teaspoon hing (asoefetida)
• 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
• Red chillies
• 1 sprig dry curry leaves
• 2 tablespoons coconut grated
• Peppercorns
• Ghee for roasting

How to make sambhar powder

• Roast each of the above till they turn aromatic.
• Powder to a fine powder using a coffee grinder and use as required.
• This will keep well for months in a airtight container.
• You can make a larger quantity of this by using the above ingredients in the same ratio.
