Picadillo


 Picadillo recipe in the mexican category

 Recipe ingredients:

  • 1 pound lean beef, chopped coarse
  • 1 medium onion, chopped fine
  • 2 large fresh tomatoes, peel, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 2 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin, ground
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup seedless raisins
  • 1/2 cup almonds, blanched, slivered


 Recipe method:

  • Brown meat over medium heat.
  • After meat begins to cook and some of the fat begins to cook out, add the onion.
  • Cook until onion is translucent.
  • Drain off excess fat, if any.
  • Add all remaining ingredients except almonds.
  • Simmer for about 30 minutes.
  • Add the almonds just before serving. Use as garnish for top of dish.
