Picadillo
Picadillo recipe in the mexican category
Recipe ingredients:
- 1 pound lean beef, chopped coarse
- 1 medium onion, chopped fine
- 2 large fresh tomatoes, peel, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 2 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin, ground
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup seedless raisins
- 1/2 cup almonds, blanched, slivered
Recipe method:
- Brown meat over medium heat.
- After meat begins to cook and some of the fat begins to cook out, add the onion.
- Cook until onion is translucent.
- Drain off excess fat, if any.
- Add all remaining ingredients except almonds.
- Simmer for about 30 minutes.
- Add the almonds just before serving. Use as garnish for top of dish.
