Yogurt pastry recipe in the pie category
Recipe ingredients:
- 2/3 cup sifted all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons shortening
- 3 tablespoons plain yogurt
Recipe method:
- Stir flour and salt together.
- Cut in shortening until pieces are the size of small peas.
- Add yogurt.
- Gently stir with a fork until all the mixture is moistened.
- Form into a ball.
- Flatten dough on lightly floured surface.
- Roll 1/8 inch thick.
- Fit pastry into 8 inch pie plate.
- Flute edges.
- Prick well with fork.
- Bake at 450 degrees F until golden, about 10 minutes.
